There was a receipt in it dated last year. It was in great condition too, and a fairly popular book, so I can't imagine why the library would give it away. Anyone have any explanations?I ordered a used book on amazon and got a library book. Did someone steal it?
some one probably stole it.
what a mean person.
anyways, you bought so its your now.
if i were you i'd read it then donate it to your local/school library.I ordered a used book on amazon and got a library book. Did someone steal it?
This is pretty common in used books sold online.
Most libraries have limited space and must cull their collections to make room for new books. Maybe they had six copies of that one, since it's fairly popular, and got rid of two, one of which was sold to you.
A library with plenty of staff will stamp such books as DISCARD or some similar notation, but if, like many libraries, they're understaffed and overworked, this may not get done.I ordered a used book on amazon and got a library book. Did someone steal it?
Sometimes they have stamps on them saying in big red letters inside the cover: NO LONGER THE PROPERTY OF THE *INSERT CITY* PUBLIC LIBRARY. But I'm guessing you'd have seen that already if it were there.
