How do i delete my i tunes library but not the tunes on my ipod?

last time i deleted all the songs in my library,when i plugged in my ipod,it deleted that as well!How do i delete my i tunes library but not the tunes on my ipod?
That's impossible, unless you can delete it and have an ipod charger, then I think it's possible. Just don't connect it to your computer or it'll earse it.

change your settings on your Ipod to manual.

then if you delete the stuff on your libary everything else is saved.

When you plug in your ipod click the name of your ipod on Itunes (for example: Tim's Ipod) then check the box in the settings that says manually update ipod. then you can just drag songs in yor ipod when you want more and it won't delete any when delete out of iTunes.
i would sync it one last time wth everything on library, unplug ,then delete itunes.at least youll have everything from library on pod.are you reinstalling itunes after?just dont plug ipod back in until you have library or itunes back on computer then you could buy a dock so u can still charge it up and find some other way to sync and download
delete the songs in your library and next time you plug your ipod in, itll ask you how you want to sync the ipod.

i did and next time i plugged my ipod in it wiped the songs.......
