Is there a statute of limitations for enforcing collection of library fines in Colorado?

A university library is seeking collection of a 5 year old fine, with interest, for books that were returned long ago (the library confirms they are on the shelf). The fine was $6 but interest inflated it to $40. I do not care to use the library again but I was wondering if they can seek collection through the courts on such an old fine. (5 years passed without receiving an invoice till now).Is there a statute of limitations for enforcing collection of library fines in Colorado?
I'm not positive if there is, but if there is it would probably be 7 years. You might be able to fight the interest though because they did not notify you.
