What happens if I plug my Ipod into iTunes with no songs in the library?

I had to wipe my hard drive and I have no songs in my iTunes library. I would like to add some new music. However I'm afraid if I sync my iPod with some songs i add into my library, only the new songs will be on there and my other 3000 songs will be gone. So I was wondering if I plug my Ipod in and add like 50 songs to my library will the 3000 songs still be there or only the 50 new songs? Thanks! What happens if I plug my Ipod into iTunes with no songs in the library?
Yes, if you directly click sync, it will erase all music on the iPod and replace with the content of your iTunes library.

But here is a solution. All you need is to get all existing music/videos from the iPod onto your computer and iTunes. Simply use this popular program called Tansee iPod Transfer

The whole process is easy and safe.

With just a few simple clicks, it will help you copy all videos/songs from iPod back to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can easily add those songs back to iTunes. See detailed guide.

More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on the iPod. And all song names are preserved.

In this case, all songs/videos (both new and old) are on your iTunes library that you can syn with whenever you wish to without deleting any files.

Here is step-by-step guide on the whole process:

Best luck!

I hope you made a backup of your 3,000 songs....What happens if I plug my Ipod into iTunes with no songs in the library?
its made so that you cant just pass your iPod round to people with the music already bought. i mean you could save them on a USB or something, like 拢12 or something and then transfer them when done. but yeah, the 50 will be left there
I recommend AVCWare iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer which can transfer your iPod and iPhone music, video, playlist, photos back to computer and iTunes.

If you own more than one iPods, AVCWare iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer can simultaneously manage all the iPods in the same interface, you may transfer files among these iPods by drag-and-drop.
